Session 1

Reflection Questions

  • What is your reaction to the data provided regarding pastoral physical health and wellness?

  • What physical self-care areas are particularly challenging for you? What factors contribute to the challenges you face in ensuring appropriate physical self-care?

  • What feelings to do you have toward your body? Toward your physical wellness? Toward your physical self-care?

Session 2

Reflection Questions

  • How does stress contribute to any challenges you face relative to your physical wellness and self-care?

  • What theology of physical self-care tenets resonate most deeply with you? How can these be stronger sources of motivation for you to embrace your need for physical self- care?

Session 3

Reflection Questions

  • To what degree have you “befriended” your body? How might this be reflected in your approach or commitment to your physical self-care?

  • How do you feel about your exercise habits and routine? What challenge do you face in establishing a consistent and healthy exercise regimen? What “swing thoughts” might be particularly helpful for you?

  • How do you feel about your nutrition and dietary habits? What, if anything, would you like to change? What suggestions might be most helpful to you?

Session 4

Reflection Questions

  • How healthy are your sleep habits? To what degree would your life be more fulfilling with more consistent rest?

  • What challenges do you face to carve out and protect the time you need to focus on your physical self-care? What steps can you take to more consistently ensure your physical self-care time is essentially “sacred” from interruptions and conflicts?

  • What goals do you have for your physical self-care and wellness? What commitments are you willing to make? What support systems would be helpful for you?
